What 90 Days of Metal Detoxing Taught Me
Why heavy metals are the wellness red flag no one’s talking about...
♡A Note from Allie♡
This past week was all about easing back into real life after a month of travel. Between client meetings for my actual job, dinners with friends, and a very cute boat ride to watch the Giants game with Jordan, I’ve been slowly getting back into a rhythm: cooking, working out at Mighty Pilates, and shifting focus toward the next Chemo Club product drops (!!!).
Something I haven’t shared yet? For the past three months, I’ve been doing a metal detox: working to eliminate years of built-up heavy metals from environmental exposure and yes, from the stack of vaccines we’ve all been encouraged to get over the last few decades. Heavy metals like aluminum, mercury, and lead can accumulate in tissues over time and affect everything from brain fog and fatigue to hormone imbalance and gut issues.
After over a year of research, deep dives with experts like Lead Safe Mama, and watching so many friends struggle with unexplained fertility challenges, I knew I had to do this for myself. My husband, Jordan, has also been doing the metal detox as well.
My Detox Ritual
Here’s what I’ve been using:
BodyHealth Chemical Cleanse: targets environmental toxins, pesticides, and chemical residue (because it’s not just metals we’re dealing with).
The Wellness Company Spike Support: formulated to support cellular cleanup post-vaccine or viral exposure, particularly for inflammation and circulation.
Daily minerals + binders: like magnesium glycinate and activated charcoal to help flush and restore balance while detoxing.
This isn’t a trendy reset. It’s an actual healing protocol. It’s not just about what you put on your skin or in your pantry anymore, it’s what your body is holding onto. If you would like more details or want to chat with me - DM me! I know this subject can be touchy but for some of us it is necessary!!
Sometimes people ask why I’m doing all of this. The answer is simple: I believe in it. I believe people deserve better care, better products, and better information especially when facing something as hard as cancer. I started The Chemo Club in memory of my mom, but I keep building it for everyone who’s ever felt lost, overlooked, or under-informed in their own health journey.
We have product launches coming soon. We’re breaking down greenwashed wellness noise and replacing it with truth. And slowly but surely, we’re building a platform that feels both rebellious and restorative.
Thanks for being here with me. I love you all SO SO MUCH!!!
xoxo,
Allie
My Saved Folder This Week!
A peek into what I actually saved on IG, Pinterest, and TikTok because my algorithm knows me too well.

♡ Clean Culture Watch ♡
The clean drops + conscious trends we’re watching this week:
Olive & June launches on Amazon
The cult-favorite nail brand just made a major accessibility move: now available on Amazon. I love this for clean beauty: more access to 7-free polishes, salon-quality tools, and dreamy color drops without the markup. Clean girl manicures, meets 2-day shipping.
Mānuka Health hits The Detox Market + Violet Grey
This New Zealand brand is bringing the healing powers of Mānuka honey to prestige skincare. Known for its antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, and skin-repairing properties, it’s finally landing on U.S. shelves that actually vet their products. Bonus: it’s a favorite for post-treatment skin.
Sakara Expands into Gut-Loving Beauty Supplements
Sakara Life just dropped Beauty Biome, a probiotic supplement designed to support skin clarity, gut health, and hormonal balance from the inside out. With clinically backed strains and their signature “food-as-medicine” ethos, this launch marks a big expansion in the beauty supplement space. Expect to see it all over wellness vanities this summer.
The rise of non-toxic activewear
Finally, wellness is catching up to wardrobe. Brands like Namaire, Mate the Label, and Organic Basics are leading the shift with OEKO-TEX certified fabrics, non-toxic dyes, and plastic-free performance wear. Your leggings shouldn’t be leaching microplastics or VOCs—period. If we’re sweating, it should be in something safe.
♡ What’s in the (Clean) Headlines ♡
The latest health, environmental, and regulatory stories we’re watching closely:
Hundreds of women sue Pfizer over birth control tumors
Over 300 women have filed lawsuits claiming the Depo-Provera birth control shot caused them to develop tumors; some cancerous, others non-cancerous but still requiring major treatment or surgery. The suits allege Pfizer failed to disclose known risks tied to prolonged use and hormone disruption. (wjla.com)
Glyphosate found in popular cereals and snack bars
New testing has revealed alarming levels of glyphosate—the controversial weedkiller linked to cancer in dozens of household-name cereals and snack bars marketed to kids and families. Despite mounting research and global concern, the U.S. still allows significantly higher levels than other countries. (ehn.org)
Maryland residents demand answers on PFAS contamination
A community in Maryland is fighting for clean water after discovering high levels of PFAS “forever chemicals” linked to cancer, hormonal disruption, and immune dysfunction in local wells. Residents are demanding accountability and long-term solutions as regulators scramble to test and respond. (thenewlede.org)
🍓 The Clean Dessert I’m Making This Week
Move over Red Vines. This week I’m making oven-dried strawberries, and they are shockingly addictive. Think: the chewy texture of fruit leather, the sweetness of candy, but totally clean.
Here’s how to do it:
– Preheat your oven to 200°F
– Slice fresh strawberries thinly
– Bake on parchment-lined baking sheet for 2 hours
– Flip, then bake for another 2 hours

That’s it. No sugar, no weird dyes, no artificial flavors: just nature’s version of a Twizzler, but better!
