My name is Alexandra O’Brien. I lost my mom to cancer, and everything changed.
In the aftermath, I didn’t just grieve, I got angry. Angry at how broken, toxic, and outdated cancer care still is. Angry at the silence, the shame, the pink ribbons slapped on products filled with chemicals. Angry at how little support there is for people actually living through it and for the ones who love them.
So I built The Chemo Club: part rebellion, part resource, part love letter to my mom. It’s a platform for anyone navigating cancer, caregiving, grief, or healing. A space where clean living meets unfiltered truth. Where support looks more like ritual than pity. Where we ask better questions, demand better answers, and refuse to accept that this is just the way it has to be.
This is not a wellness newsletter. This is not your oncologist’s checklist.
This is a movement — a brand — that’s unbeatable.
The Chemo Club is here to change the way we talk about cancer care. To clean it up. To humanize it. To make it louder, braver, and better.
And because I believe the personal is political, I also share glimpses of my own life - from what’s in my clean travel bag to what I’m learning, building, and questioning along the way. It’s honest, it’s evolving, and it’s all part of the story.
Welcome to the club. You’re not alone.
